Heated sand is a tried and tested method of transferring heat to samples. It is inert and therefore very safe to use. The temperature uniformity and stability are very high as once the sand is heated it hold the temperature meaning that your samples are kept at the correct temperature for long periods of time.
Sand baths are far safer and cleaner than using water or oil as there is no risk of overheating. This makes them ideal for use in education. There are two sizes available, 6 and 12 litres. The internal tank is manufactured from robust and easy to clean 18 / 8 stainless steel.
